Yuqiong Sun is a 5th year PhD student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Penn State University, advised by Dr. Trent Jaeger. He is now a member of the Systems and Internet Infrastructure Security lab at Penn State, and his current research focuses on security issues in cloud computing, virtualization, and operating systems as well as distributed systems.

Yuqiong has been involved in several research projects related to cloud computing security. One project he was on aimed to provide cloud customers more visibility and control by building a runtime integrity monitoring framework into the cloud. The framework enables clients to validate the executions of VMs as well as the cloud infrastructure. Currently, he is working on a project that investigates the trust model of IaaS cloud platforms and explores defense mechanisms that protect cloud customer resources (e.g., VMs) from compromised cloud platforms.
